Tonna
Senior Financial Coach
Tonna M. Jackson is a passionate, community-driven professional with over two decades of experience in financial and human services. Her career began in the late 1990s, rooted in integrity, compassion, and excellence. Currently, she proudly serves at Build Wealth MN, guiding individuals and families toward homeownership and long-term financial empowerment. Serving the community has always been at Tonna’s core. She started as a Senior Mortgage Loan Processor in the for-profit mortgage industry but felt called to make a direct impact in nonprofit work. There, she aligns financial expertise with her mission to empower, uplift, and support others. Tonna holds an Associate of Science in Human Services from North Hennepin Community College and is pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree at Metropolitan State University. She's a certified Mental Health First Aider with valuable experience in emotional wellness, advocacy, and community engagement. Known for her analytical mindset, strong communication skills, and empathetic approach, Tonna meets people exactly where they are—whether guiding clients to housing solutions, mentoring young women, or simply offering a listening ear. She deeply values action and understands traditional college isn't the right fit for everyone. Still, she inspires youth to pursue trades, training, or education leading to self-sufficiency and purpose. A favorite John Quincy Adams quote captures her belief: “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” Tonna is a proud mother of two daughters, her greatest motivation and joy. Two personal mantras guide her: “Do what makes you feel good. Do what makes you happy,” and her late great uncle’s cherished words, “Big God, little me — I can do anything.” Throughout her journey, Tonna seeks not just to build wealth, but to build people, purpose, and lasting change.
