I am Demitri McGee, a HUD-certified Housing Counselor, Financial Coach, scholar, and youth community leader. I earned a Master's degree from the University of Minnesota’s Family Social Sciences department, where my academic research focuses on developing and evaluating effective financial capability programs for underserved and underrepresented communities. I have published multiple articles that utilize my research findings to enhance my efforts in assisting the local nonprofit Financial Opportunity Center, Build Wealth MN Inc, and other organizations in the field. For the past nine years, I have worked as both a Youth Director and a housing counselor/financial coach at Build Wealth. I have been fortunate to assist hundreds of families and youths in developing various financial skills, including budgeting, saving, credit building, and homebuyer preparation. Additionally, I have authored and coordinated the Youth Stabilization Program and the rental readiness program, Rent Smart - Wise & Ready, which are offered at Build Wealth.
