Legacy Under Fire—Stand Your Ground
The 5th Annual Black Men’s Legacy Summit presented by 9000 Equities, returns Saturday, October 31, 2026, bringing Black men together for a day of fellowship, conversation, and action around one powerful question: What legacy are we building for our families and communities?
This year’s theme, “Legacy Under Fire—Stand Your Ground,” speaks to the importance of protecting what previous generations have built while creating new opportunities for the generations that follow.
Dr. Cornel West to Deliver Keynote Address
This year’s Summit will feature Dr. Cornel West, also warmly regarded as Brother West, as its keynote speaker.
Dr. West is the holder of the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Chair at Union Theological Seminary and a distinguished scholar, author, and public philosopher. He previously served at Harvard University and is Professor Emeritus at Princeton University, where he earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy in 1980, becoming the first Black man to receive a philosophy Ph.D. from Princeton. His acclaimed books include Race Matters, Democracy Matters, and Black Prophetic Fire.
His keynote, “The State of the Nation,” will address issues including DEI, voting power, and access to ownership.
Building a Legacy That Lasts
Throughout the day, the Summit will explore the many dimensions of legacy—from fathers and sons and strengthening relationships across generations, to entrepreneurship, homeownership, economic opportunity, health, civic engagement, and emerging technology.
The goal is not simply to talk about legacy, but to help Black men identify practical pathways to build, protect, and sustain wealth and opportunity for their families and communities. Attendees will be encouraged to engage fully, connect with resources, and turn the day’s conversations into action.
At its heart, the Summit is about creating and identifying the legacy for your family.
